To our valued LCW community:
With news on the spread of COVID-19 (commonly known as Coronavirus) changing daily, Lawrence CommunityWorks is closely following these updates and working together to assess how to best protect our staff, volunteers, and program participants.
We are taking the situation seriously and following common-sense precautions to limit the rate of infection. Since our statement issued on March 12, the Lawrence Public Schools and other partner agencies have also announced their proactive closures. In an effort to be responsible to our community and reduce transmission, we are now enforcing the following preventative measures:
1) Lawrence CommunityWorks’ Our House Campus will be officially closed to the public from Monday, March 16 until at least Monday, March 30.
2) In the case you need to contact LCW immediately, please email info@lawrencecommunityworks.
3) We will continue to increase our cleaning and sanitation procedures for the entire LCW campus, with specific attention to classroom spaces and commonly used areas such as doorknobs, workstations, tables, and chairs.
4) We encourage all members of LCW’s network to act responsibly, pay attention, and follow guidelines to limit the spread of infection.
5) If you have questions or need more information, we recommend referring to reputable sources such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Massachusetts’ Department of Public Health.
6) If you are experiencing symptoms and/or think you may have come in contact with an infected person, please use Lawrence General Hospital’s Community Screening assessment at 978-946-8409 or online.
While we plan to resume normal operations by April, we are monitoring the situation as it evolves and will re-evaluate protocols on a day-to-day basis and make changes as necessary. Please be assured that your safety is our primary concern and we will release any updated information as we know more.
